"Yoga therapy is the professional application of the principles and practices of yoga to promote health and well-being within a therapeutic relationship that includes personalized assessment, goal setting, lifestyle management, and yoga practices for individuals or small groups." -International Association of Yoga Therapists
In a traditional yoga class, everyone follows the same sequence. Yoga therapy is yoga with a specific focus. The sessions are created specifically with you in mind.
During this co-created session, we move at your pace, work within your comfort level, and focus on what will best support you.
You do not need prior yoga experience. This work is about meeting you exactly where you are.
Those who would benefit from a yoga practice thoughtfully tailored to their unique needs. Including support for chronic pain, mental health challenges, chronic conditions, recovery following acute illness, post-surgery, etc...
The yoga therapist will begin with a comprehensive overview of your current physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. This includes gathering information such as your personal and medical history, areas of balance or imbalance, and other relevant details. Based on this assessment, the yoga therapist chooses techniques to support your overall wellness and creates a program tailored specifically to your needs.
